Advent Conspiracy: Kidz Edition 2014 Finale
Advent Conspiracy Kidz Edition Family Finale was a night filled with joy! There was joy as we gathered together, young and old, and shared cookies, hot cocoa, and laughter. There was joy as we left our pride at the door and danced and praised God unhindered in our worship of Him. There was joy as we opened God’s word together and were reminded that Christmas isn’t over when the packages are all opened, but that the Christmas Story continues in and through each of our lives. There was joy as we filled 50 Welcome Boxes with 27 different items and notes of love to help ease the pain of transition for kids entering foster care. And there were joy-filled tears as each family laid hands on the box that they packed with care and prayed specifically for the child that will receive it.
One student very carefully assembled a box themed by color. Another, a five-year-old, wrote in his note, “If you’re scared, there’s a flashlight in your box!” 150 people participated in this beautiful night.
John 15:11 says “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” We were certainly full of joy that night, and we hope each and every Welcome Box helps a child feel a little joy, too.
