Ownership Night Fall 2016

At the end of August, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about taking the next step of ownership at Real Life! We believe every follower of Jesus should belong to a local church and take ownership of that church. By “ownership,” we mean taking an active role in serving, giving, and participating in your biblical community.

Ownership vs. Membership

Members have rights; Owners have responsibilities. As a member, your mindset is to be served: if something is broken, all you need to do is tell the attendant and they’ll fix it. However, that is not how Jesus teaches us to live if we’re following Him. In fact, He said of Himself:

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Mark 10:45 (NLT)

As an owner at Real Life, you have the responsibility to bring all the talents, expertise, and gifts God has given you and use them with a heart for serving others. It sounds counter-intuitive by our cultural standards, but the truth is when we look outward in service and learn to walk selflessly as Jesus did, we find a full and abundant life! You can read more about this concept of ownership and how it fits into your Next Steps here.

Is Ownership Your Next Step?

Join us on Sunday, August 28th from 6-7:30 pm as we explain the six values that we desire to grow in as we follow Jesus together: Experiencing, Belonging, Growing, Inviting, Serving and Celebrating. Through expressing these values together, we help each generation find real life through a relationship with God and with each other! If becoming an Owner of Real Life is your next step, you can sign up online here.
