O Bethlehem: A Christmas Poem

Kia Plummer, who serves on our worship team, wrote this poem for us. It was shared at our Christmas Eve services, and now we’d like to share it with you.

O’ Little town of Bethlehem
In a barn, you welcomed Him
A meager birth, belied a King
Of which choirs of Angels did sing

Angels sang of mercy and grace
Everlasting love, in a baby’s face
Redeeming love, good news for all
Shepherds were first to hear His call

Countless angels across the sky
Declaring the birth of a Savior, who would choose to die
A Holy One sent, to set men free
New life in Him, for you and me

Behold!  Redemption of the Human race
God’s plan, hidden, in a baby’s face
A baby, who would later shed his blood
Allowing us to stand beneath mercy’s flood.
