Prayer List: 4/8/18

Each week as a church, we will pray together for God’s guidance in our lives and in our community. These directed prayer “prompts” can help engage our community and bring our voices together. God hears our prayers and He will continue to do great things!

For the last few weeks, we’ve included topics to pray on in the back of your worship folder. We hope that by sharing these lists on our blog, they’ll become part of your week and gain greater presence in your prayer life.

  • Pray for people in our community facing despair: kids, students, and adults. Pray for the light of Christ to shine in dark places. Pray for people to extend the hand of friendship, which is how we show light.
  • Pray for our city! For God to reveal Himself in transforming ways.
  • Pray for the bids on the scheduled work on remodel of new building.
  • Pray for the city planning meeting – approval of proposed renovations of our new building.
  • Pray for the one. May God draw each person into a living relationship with Himself.
  • Pray for my next step in reaching the one I am praying for.
  • Pray for boldness to reach our community with the love of Jesus.

Beloved: An Easter Poem

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. (1 John 4:10)

Magnificent
Your works are stunning
Your designs extraordinary

From your imagination,
You conceived every creation
Towering giraffes, bright and beautiful birds
Playful bears, mischievous monkeys
Enormous elephants roaming in herds

You crafted the radiant moon
And every iridescent star
Composed the oceans overflowing with life
And lands near and far

You prepared the balmy sun to keep us warm
And to help everything grow
You send nourishing rain to give the earth a drink
And enchanting winter snow

You formed flowers in every color
And produced every majestic tree
Shaped mountains that reach the heavens
And in Your image, You fashioned
The human family

Over all that You created
To mankind You gave dominion
And graced us with intelligence
To reason, contemplate and cultivate our own opinions

We became Your prized possession
The apple of Your eye
And though we would reject Your love
For us You chose to die

Crimson pools at Calvary’s cross
For love’s resolve You hung exposed
Setting is free, the price was paid
Redeeming champion You arose

Thank you Kia for sharing this poem with us! We hope to see all of you tomorrow morning when we gather to celebrate Easter at 9 and 10:30 AM!
